A RESULT-ORIENTED ENVIRONMENT
For BARN, which obscures the existing boundaries and tries to create its architecture outside of the conventional practice by jumping on the other side of the line, designing is a way of speaking and going into action. The movement starts with the design of actions, collides with knowledge and experimentation in memory and creates a polyphonic result-oriented environment by including all disciplines in the space-human section. The design to production process continues by taking people on its focal point, makes the sense of belonging a pioneering character by examining the relationship between the space and atmosphere with the relevant digital tools.
The proactive team, in defense of urban memory, believes the importance of transformation and articulation before destruction, and that designing should continue even after the construction state ends. Through the design process, BARN aims to contribute to the sustainability of the spaces and the city they create by focusing on the concepts of temporariness and permanence.
Abstract or concrete, all materials have different potentials in design. We call materials that meet different needs outside of the area of its function, ultra-materials. We introduce a strong geometry and try to use it on every scale from product design to architectural projects.
We start experiments on materials in the office and finalize it together with craftsmen in the workshops and factories. We own it, call it BARN material. We keep it with us and develop it.
BARN arch. begins with the design of the action. Knowledge in memory collides with experimentation. We think in an interdisciplinary manner. We have humanity in the center of the endeavor. We make plans to go to the conclusion by querying all abstract and concrete variables in the digital environment. Each idea plans its own characteristic processes in a cycle that we define/design. We determine who and what will be included in this process and act upon it. We undertake the application.
The state of design ends and observation begins. We examine the actions and places created during usage, and we follow the user. We control the operability of the designed scenario; we do not leave the space alone. If necessary, we will not hesitate to interfere with the design.
Design, production, usage... We study the feedback and archive the documents. We turn it into an input for the next.
