AKMERKEZ

Interior

Public Realm

This project reimagines the food court at Akmerkez, transforming a conventional commercial hub into a vibrant social landscape. It reframes the F&B zone as a cultural platform, extending beyond conventional retail typologies. Through adaptive design strategies and spatial reconfiguration, the project challenges the standard typology of the shopping mall, seeking to create permanence within transience and redefining the role of public interiors in the urban fabric.

SHATTERING

THE BOUNDARIES

Approach to mall transformations exemplifies a broader architectural position: rather than treating renovation as a purely formal or technical intervention, it reconsiders the shopping mall as an urban instrument, transforming inward-oriented commercial structures into more open, connective, and catalytic civic environments.

DEFYING

THE ORDINARY

Defying the contemporary kiosk definition, this F&B centerpiece blurs the line between indoor and outdoor utility. An Exploration in form and materiality that shatters the monotony of architectural norms.

The contemporary public realm is increasingly shaped by the dynamics of urban life, where everyday needs, patterns of interaction, and collective presence actively inform the spatial and social production of the city.

REDEFINING

THE KIOSK

Bringing diverse brand identities together in one space—coexisting without imitation, each retaining its own voice. Conceived as a blurred intersection between urban furniture and micro-architecture, the structure becomes both a landmark and a subtle extension of the public realm.
