A New Generation Tavern Design

BARN arch. undertook the architectural design and application of Yeni Nesil Meyhane Avlu Ocakbaşı, which started to serve again in Beyoğlu, Galatasaray.

The primary design decision is to create a spatial response to the dream of renovating the Turkish Pub culture. Color arrangement, material selections, lighting designs, and landscape project were each carefully considered according to the intended new generation atmosphere of the tavern.

Interaction Area

The components that make up space are built on context derived from coexistence, sharing and dining together. On the basis of this aim, interior plan has been created to encourage different groups to sit at a common table where the interaction will be established and strengthened.

Fire Pit

The lighting that goes right in the middle of three marble tables at the entrance refers to the inclusiveness of a fire pit and emphasizes the state of being together.

Consistency in Design

Tavern

All the components have been expanded out of the space, and the restaurant has opened outwards, and the partnerships designed in the project are intended to live on the street level. The consistency of the design and implementation are maintained and ensured through a process of feedback.
